Sunset On Lusenzo
Lusenzo, the ancient "Luxentium" in Roman times, indicates the stretch of lagoon that separates Chioggia from Sottomarina. The scenic cycling and pedestrian pathway allows you to tour the Laguna by avoiding chaos and city traffic. The place is particularly enjoyable: the scenery is fascinating, the benches are surrounded by the greenery of the plants and, if desired, you can get to the dam of Sottomarina.
The beautiful view of the lagoon makes the walk very relaxing and is ideal for jogging and very enjoyable for a bike ride. Access is only permitted for pedestrians and cyclists.
Along the way there are signs dedicated to animals and plants that populate the Lusenzo and can be seen nearby. The cormorant, the seagull, the molluscs ... are just some of the animals you can discover and know while walking on Lusenzo! Not only is it a naturalistic itinerary, it is also sport and fun: in fact, signs of 5.3km were placed, that is, the length of the walk on Lusenzo. In the entry points are the billboards (at the Union Island car park in Sottomarina, at the Citadel of Justice in Chioggia and in the vicinity of the sports hall at Borgo San Giovanni). And that's not all: on the bottom of the signs you can read history pills on the city of Chioggia and the landscape around us.
