One day Mr. Karim was sitting in the shop doing business.

Then suddenly an 8/10 year old girl came and said, “Uncle will you give me two jute sacks?”

Mr. Karim was busy delivering goods to the customers of the shop and did not pay much attention to it.

The girl begged again for the jute sacks lying beside the shop.

But, Mr. Karim got annoyed and said, "Get out from here, don't disturb me during the sale."

But the girl did not go anywhere and stood beside the shop. After a while, when the customer of the shop decreased a lot, she started begging again.

But Mr. Karim got annoyed again and said, “Why should I give you this sack? I can sell these sacks for 10/15 Taka.

Later the girl got upset and left the place. The next day he came to the shop again with some money in his hand and said to Mr. Karim, "Take this money, I got this money by begging from people all day, now will you give me two sacks?"

Today, with a great curiosity, Mr. Karim asked this girl, “What are you going to do with this sack? Will you steal something from someone?

The girl said by crying, "No, uncle, I will not steal anything. The weather is very cold now, so I will take one and the other I will give to my little brother for wearing at night.

Mr. Rahim asked again, why do you wear a sack? Don't you have winter clothes?

The girl cried and said, "We don't have parents, who will buy winter clothes for us." My mother died a few days ago, and my father left us. Now, my little brother and I live on the station. We eat food by begging from people all day and sleep there at night. Now, weather is getting cold, so we can't sleep. My younger brother also very ill. The girl started crying a lot because they were in so much trouble.

Mr. Karim listened quietly to the girl, then asked the boy in his shop to bring some food from the shop and give it to the girl. He told the girl to sit down there and left for home. He went home and came back to the shop with some clothes in a bag. Then he handed the bag of clothes to the girl and said, "Your winter will go well with these clothes. Tomorrow, I will buy a blanket for you." Then the girl took the bag and left from there.

After the girl left, Mr. Karim was wiping his eyes and thinking about his children, he had just bought new winter clothes for his children. Every year he buys them new clothes. But these street children are spending day after day without any winter clothes. When we sleep at night wearing heavy sheets and good winter clothes, these needy people spend the night in nominal clothes and loose sheets. Mr. Karim decided that, from now on every year he would stand by the needy as much as he could.

The main purpose of sharing this story today to inspire everyone for helping. There are so many people around us who can't afford to buy winter clothes. Can't we extend a helping hand to them? We could have been in this situation ,,,! But by the grace of the Creator we are much better off. We can alleviate a person's suffering if we want to. At least, we should give them our old clothes so that they can ward off the cold. We can make a person happy by a little gift.
