Round of Sixteen Done !!

World mega tournament is running. After the group stage, the 2022 Qatar World Cup Round of 16 games ended with various incidents. What happened in Qatar's World Cup group stage matches mayn't have happened in any other World Cup post-group matches. Famous teams like Germany, Belgium, and Uruguay were eliminated. This time the big surprise of the round of sixteen is Spain's loss against Morocco. Did anyone think that Spain will be eliminated from the Round of Sixteen by losing against Morocco? This time, the first match of the round of sixteen was between the Netherlands and America. In that match, the Netherlands secured their place in the quarter-finals by defeating the USA by three-one goals. The Netherlands dominated this match from all sides. As a result, they saw this long-awaited victory. Memphis Depay, Daley Blind & Denzel Dumfries scored in this match for the Netherlands. They will face another title contender 2014 Brazil World Cup finalist Argentina in the quarter-finals.

Argentina and Australia face off in another Round of Sixteen matches. Argentina won this match with a margin of 2-1. Every player plays with their maximum throughout the match. Lionel Messi and Álvarez also got goals on that occasion. However, after Enjo's suicide goal, Australia tried to return to the match. In the end, Australis create a few great chances but could not score a goal. Messi's Argentina wins if there are no more goals in the match.

In another round of sixteen matches defending champions, France played against Poland. France won that match by a 3-1 goal difference after Kylian Mbappe's great performance. Kylian Mbappe, who crowned his team the title at the 2018 Russia World Cup, has been in great form in this World Cup as well.

However, they will face another title contender England in the quarter-finals. In the Round of Sixteen matches, England won against Senegal by 3-0. England is the only team undefeated in the World Cup so far. So the match between England and France is going to be the most exciting match in the quarter-finals.

This time in the round of sixteen, two matches were played up to a penalty shootout. One is a Japan vs Croatia match and the other is a Morocco vs Spain match. While Japan fell short against Croatia in a penalty shootout, Morocco made history by beating Spain. For the first time in the World Cup, they entered the quarter-finals. The Morocco goalkeeper blocked three of Spain's three shots in the shootout. As a result, Spain has to withdraw from the World Cup.

In the other two matches of the round of sixteen, Brazil and Portugal won as expected. Brazil beat South Korea 4-1. On the other hand, Portugal defeated Switzerland by 6-1 goals.
