There is a proverb that, "An accident is the cry of a lifetime". Many people are losing their lives in accidents, some of them are paralyzed for whole life. Many families are losing their only earning member. Currently, the cause of the accidents in Bangladesh is unsafe road system. Fresh souls are constantly falling on the streets. A few days ago, Notre Dame College student died in a road accident. Then, thousands of students took to the streets demanding safer roads. But, Is there any change today? In my opinion, nothing is changed…!
The amount of corruption in the country has increased so much, that people are getting driving license without giving driving test. As a result, hundreds of people are being crushed by reckless driving, taking away the light of a life. A family is becoming destitute. Is there anyone to take this responsibility?
Today our varsity bus has faced such an accident. The bus left for Dhanmondi in Dhaka with some students. But before reaching the destination, the bus met with an accident.
According to eyewitnesses, as the bus was passing Khagan which is located at Asuliya, a freight truck was speeding from the other side without any control.
The university bus driver noticed the matter and tried to pass by. However, the truck on the other side uncontrollably collided head-on. But, when the driver of the bus wants to cut the side to avoid collision, the bus goes and collides with the electric pole. At the same time, the front part of the bus broke and twisted and also the front glass went down the side of the road. the truck run away there very quickly from this place.
However, no one of the students injured inside the bus. But the driver was injured as he in the front part of the bus. He was rushed to the hospital by varsity ambulance. If any student had a major problem today, who would take responsibility for it? Today the light of a life could go out! But the accident could not have happened if the truck driver had not recklessly driven or the road was too wide. So, the demand for safe roads is now a matter of time. "I want a safe road, I want to survive."
