The unstoppable beast that is Bitcoin keeps on going from strength to strength. After hitting the seemingly impossible target of $9,000 yesterday, it is taking a slight breather. However, strong momentum is already well and truly is place now. It's just a matter of time until we get the next big leg up in price. Hold on to your seats, ladies and gents. This is gonna get wild!
At the beginning of the year, I made a bet with a few friends of mine. And that was that BTC won't break the all-time high in 2019. Interesting, as a certain friend of mine who is also a trader and analyst, begs to differ. He says breaking up over $20,000 it almost a given this year. Well, this should prove interesting as I might be about to lose a fraction of my stash of crypto to him.
Well, in reality, the outlook may be a little more balanced than I just made out. We are still a fair ways from that significant figure, although closing in rapidly. One thing we both agreed upon though and that is this year would see the ultimate bottom for BTC. Looks like that is the case, for now anyways. As we all know, once the price action of Bitcoin gets going, it can be thrilling and scary all at once.
Within an hour, Bitcoin covered almost a cool grand in value to the topside. So I'd be very surprised if we don't at least touch the $10,000 level before a pullback of some sort. But this is crypto, where literally "anything" is possible. If indeed this is the start of the next bull run, you'd have to be carrying an iron set of balls in your pants to place a short sell. I'm looking to the next 365 days. This may prove to be the most intriguing period of time Bitcoin has ever experienced.
We could easily have a sustained "FOMO" run into the halvening, due by the end of May. And if past halvenings are anything to go by, BTC is getting primed for a serious tear skyward pretty soon. I'm busy making final last-minute preparations that all my crypto assets are in order, just in case this scenario plays out.
I'm nervous and excited, all at the same time. This is "chance of a lifetime" territory for all of us, right here. The countdown has begun. Who will win the bet I've made? From my perspective, I'll be happy either way... :)
