You are spot on when you say we may never have the perfect, one-size fits all Steemit platform. Remember that even with view count based implementations, they can also be gamed by people to favour a select few.

If Steemit was Steem, (as many people still think, lol) I'd say we could tentatively try out different economic models. But seeing as we are now dealing with a potential Dapp-based business eco-system, the linear model makes much more sense, if nothing else but from a compatibility standpoint. Steemit is, after all, essentially one component of the Steem blockchain. I'm looking at the vastly bigger picture, man. It just seems like the most wrong time to start testing out huge gargantuan changes in regards to such a core aspect of the system. Right now, even with bid-bots, I feel most people here on Steemit are content, from what I read. Hopefully you see where I'm coming from, buddy. :)
