Seriously why is it every Sunday and I mean every Sunday the songs that you mostly hear are old songs? Is it really a day for old songs? Is it the same case with everyone out there or it's just here where I grew up?
I'm not complaining though I'm just wondering why ever since I was little every Sunday all I can hear is old songs. I admit, listening to old songs on Sunday makes the home homier more relaxed...but why even the radio stations are playing old songs too.
From my store going home, you'll pass by at least 5 houses before you reach our house and would you believe 4 out of the 5 houses are playing old songs? Here let me share with you the songs that they are listening too and let's try to tackle the meaning of the song too from our own understanding.
The first house is playing Alone again, I don't know who sang it so let's make a little bit of research on that song.
Alone Again (Naturally) - Guilbert O'Sullivan
When I heard the melody of this song playing at the house of our neighbor I thought it is a happy song but after I played it on youtube I realize that the song is rather a sad song with sad lyrics. It's about a story of a suicidal man that is left at the altar and he was claiming to be left alone and then the rest of the lyrics is about his parents' death and because of that he was left alone again but at least the song also tells that he had his happy days. If you want to know what I'm saying click that play button and share a phrase too.
To think that only yesterday I was cheerful, bright and gay Looking forward to who wouldn't do The role I was about to play But as if to knock me down Reality came around And without so much as a mere touch Cut me into little pieces
Let's go to the next house, and this time the song that they are playing is this,
Build me up Buttercup - The foundations
Another song that is fun to listen but when you really listen to the lyrics it is not fun at all. I think this song is about leading on someone. I think it's about having a relationship with someone that doesn't really like him but the problem is the partner keeps on telling good words or nice things that the other wants to hear just to lead him on and just to break him up afterward. And I think the guy loves the girl so much that no matter what the girl does he just doesn't care. Here' let me share that part
Why do you build me up (build me up) buttercup, baby Just to let me down (let me down) and mess me around? And then worst of all (worst of all) you never call, baby When you say you will (say you will) but I love you still I need you (I need you) more than anyone, darlin' You know that I have from the start So build me up (build me up) buttercup, don't break my heart
Beautiful Sunday - Daniel Boone
Now I think this song is really good for a Sunday sound trip. It's just described that Sunday is a beautiful day and this is his beautiful day when the girl she loves tells her that she loves her. Not much to say about this song because it's all says in the lyrics and I don't think there's a hidden meaning to this. It's just about a beautiful Sunday for a guy who is in love.
Hi hi hi, beautiful Sunday This is my my my beautiful day When you said said said said that you loved me Oh my my my its a beautiful day
We're on the last house before ours, and this house always I mean always plays the songs of the Beatles and this is what they are listening to right now.
I wanna hold your hand - The Beatles
I had fun watching this on youtube I guess I then cute and there's this charm that I just can't explain plus the song that they are singing is something that will make you feel love hahaha. Anyway, The song is about a romantic relationship that the guy is telling that he wants to hold her hand and that is he is so happy when he is holding her hand. It's a simple song and I can't really explain why the viewers or should I say the girls go gaga with this group during their high time.
Oh please, say to me You'll let me be your man And please, say to me You'll let me hold your hand You'll let me hold your hand I want to hold your hand
See they are all listening to old songs and I think I just joined them by going through all those songs just to write this article but no regrets I also enjoyed it too. Still tells me that old songs are much better than the new ones.
And I think the only reason why they listen to old music is that the melody and lyrics are good to listen to. Not much of a stressor like the new songs that can fall into the category of noise.
What about you? Do you enjoy listening to old music too on Sundays? or maybe your parents? What do you think about old songs?
And if you've come this far... I hope that I was able to entertain you and made you smile... and for that Thank you.
