Every two weeks or so I like to compare the current power-up statistics and see how we stand.
Here they are:
| STEEM | Amount |
|---|---|
| STEEMPOWER | 200,3 million |
| LIQUID STEEM | 123,7 million |
| SBD | 7,6 million |
Virtual Supply ≈ 360,115,520 STEEM
| STEEM | Amount |
|---|---|
| STEEMPOWER | 201,5 million (+1,2 million) |
| LIQUID STEEM | 123,8 million (+0,1 million) |
| SBD | 7,6 million (0 million) |
Virtual Supply ≈ 361,451,227 STEEM
Fantastic numbers this report!
A very nice increase in Steempower with 1,2 million more SP (staked STEEM) than two weeks ago.
What helps a lot is Steemit Inc. not powering down 1 week out of this 2-week report. Keeping the Steempower numbers higher (they normally power down 326k a week).
They promised not to power down this month so I expect that the numbers for the next report will look even better because of that.
I was hoping that in this report that for the first time in a long time the LIQUID supply of STEEM would have come down.
We just didn't make that. But it's very close. Normally more than a million is added to the LIQUID supply in these reports, this week it's just a 100k.
(I'm writing this report in the early morning. I think if I would have waited for nighttime we might have gotten it. Everytime I refresh total SP seems to go up a little)
I have noticed a lot of smaller accounts powering up. Click here for the last 24 hours That helps a lot for these numbers and is very healthy for a DPOS network. #newsteem seemed to have increased faith in the buyers (mostly Steemians, users of the platform).
There are still some bigger accounts powering down. But eventually, those will run out of STEEM to sell and currently there are already enough buyers to offset most of it.
I love seeing all that STEEM flow in the hands of the many. It makes STEEM way more stable and healthy.
Keep in mind though that Steemit Inc. have said they don't make enough revenue yet to stop programmatic selling. So if market conditions don't change they will start up again.
But all in all, not a bad report! The fundamentals for Steem have been fine for a while and for now the numbers are turning in Steem's favor too.
What will this do for the price? I can't say. It might very well go lower. But like I said yesterday, I know there are buyers now around these levels, so I don't worry too much about it.
My goal is now 300k. Which used to be the impossible territory. But is becoming very real now.
I still dollar average in. Buying still beats earning although with a small increase in price this will flip quickly for my account. (I'm buying around 4k a week)
With good curation, I already can earn around 950-1050SP a week. I did not expect this at all but that's pretty awesome.
It's a near 4x increase in rewards from what it used to get under #oldsteem while curation should have only seen an 80% increase under the newly introduced EIP.
(I think (can't prove it) that the fighting of abuse has a lot to do with that increase because all that STEEM flows back into the pool.)
That's 50k STEEM in rewards a year (18% ROI) for doing actions and supporting people that benefits the platform and helps it grow.
And remember your SP will also allow you to delegate RC's soon separate from voting. Also gives you influences over the witnesses and the SPS, and can be used to combat abuse. There are lots of other perks.
I'm sure this concept will catch on soon enough with more people.
Next report in two weeks!
