#47 Practicando las 4 ruedas [ES/EN] Practicing on 4 wheels
Hoy el día arrancó increíble. Nos levantamos temprano (parte aburrida) y después del desayuno nos vinimos a un club en el barrio de Villa del Parque llamado Defensores de Cervantes. Lo genial de esta es que no vinimos a una actividad de las clásicas. Vinimos a una escuela de Skate. Estamos en época de vacaciones y con Ceci la mama pensamos que lo mejor en este tiempo de descanso es que ellos elijan que quieren hacer y no se pongan horarios para nada. Si su elección era no hacer nada entonces así iba a ser. Pero como son chicos bastante curiosos y activos querían hacer algo. Y pensando encontramos esta actividad que Bruna la menor quería tener un skate hace mucho así que fue la idea perfecta.
Today was an amazing start to the day. We got up early (the boring part) and after breakfast we went to a club in the neighborhood of Villa del Parque called Defensores de Cervantes. The great thing about this one is that we didn't come to a classic activity. We came to a skate school. We are on vacation time and Ceci the mom and I decided that the best thing to do in this time of rest is to let them choose what they want to do and not to set a schedule for anything. If their choice was not to do anything then that was the way it was going to be. But since they are quite curious and active kids they wanted to do something. And thinking about it we found this activity that Bruna the youngest wanted to have a skateboard for a long time so it was the perfect idea.
Todo empezó con la excusa de que ella quería venir así que en principio solo la acompañamos. Pero como venimos todos, Dante se terminó re enganchando. Llegamos y los reciben 2 profes si es la primera vez les dan una charla les explican cómo es la dinámica y después de todo eso. Protecciones en la tabla y en la cancha a practicar.
It all started with the excuse that she wanted to come, so at first we just went with her. But since we all came, Dante ended up getting hooked. We arrive and are received by 2 teachers if it is the first time they give them a talk explaining how the dynamics and after all that. Protections board and to the court to practice.
Los que son nuevos no importa la edad están rodeados de muchos profesores que están pendientes de los diferentes ejercicios y consignas que les van dando siguiendolos. Primero solamente reconocer como es subirse y estar parados sobre la tabla, después con la ayuda de algun profe ir esquivando una fila de conos. También otros ejercicios como impulsarse y andar en línea recta por un camino de conos solos. Y si ya estas dos las manejan bien pasan a una tercera y última etapa que no la llegamos a conocer aún.
Those who are new, no matter how old they are, are surrounded by many teachers who are aware of the different exercises and instructions they are given and follow them. First they just recognize how it is to get on and stand on the board, then with the help of a teacher they have to avoid a row of cones. Also other exercises like propelling themselves and walking in a straight line along a path of cones on their own. And if they already manage these two well, they move on to a third and last stage that we don't know yet.
Lo genial es que no solo les enseñan a andar. En la charla previa a la primera clase les enseñan el respeto por los profesores y por los amigos que ante cualquier necesidad de ir al baño o tomar algo tienen que pedir permiso. Que siempre lo van a tener si lo piden. Tienen que respetar a los amigos con los que comparten la clase y siempre siempre tienen que ayudar con el orden o si algún profesor les pide ayuda.
The great thing is that they not only teach them how to walk. In the talk before the first class they teach them respect for the teachers and for their friends, that if they need to go to the bathroom or have a drink they have to ask for permission. That they will always have it if they ask for it. They have to respect their friends with whom they share the class and they always have to help with the order or if a teacher asks for help.
Todos los profes son chicos que andan en skate todo el día y muy cómodos y relajados. Que les encanta enseñar y se nota por el trato y las ganas que tienen al hablarles mostrarles y acompañarlos en cada ejercicios. Algo que hacía mucho no veía era niños y niñas de todas las edades haciendo lo mismo compartiendo la misma actividad al mismo tiempo sin estar segmentados por edad o género.
All the teachers are guys who skate all day and are very cool and relaxed. They love to teach and you can tell by the way they treat you and the desire they have to talk to you, show you and accompany you in each exercise. Something I haven't seen for a long time was boys and girls of all ages doing the same thing sharing the same activity at the same time without being segmented by age or gender.
Ellos salen todos transpirados un poco por el calor, pero yo creo que es más por el trabajo neuronal de muchos estímulos constantes. Coordinar, equilibrio, también la concentración que le ponen a lo que les proponen para hacer. Sus caras de felicidad al entrar o salir de la clase son únicas. Se nota que les interesa venir sin importar que nos levantemos temprano o que haga calor.
They all get a little sweaty because of the heat, but I think it's more because of the neural work of the many constant stimuli. Coordination, balance, as well as the concentration they put into what they are asked to do. Their happy faces when they enter or leave the class are unique. You can tell they are interested in coming no matter how early we get up or how hot it is.
Estos niños todo el tiempo me están mostrando a mi sin darse cuenta el camino por el que va la cosa. Ellos con las cosas simples tienen las mejores experiencias no necesitan lujos, solo que estés presente para compartir con ellos momentos y ser familia.
These children are showing me all the time, without realizing it, the way things are going. They have the best experiences with simple things, they don't need luxuries, they just need you to be there to share moments with them, to be family.
