Because they forget that they affect the world around them. They think that they are under constant pressure from the world, and are actively fighting against it. But in fact, it is they who put pressure on the world.
Every time you think you weren’t tough with someone, know that you turned into a bad boss. A boss who yells at his subordinates. Because he is absolutely convinced that all his subordinates are completely villains and deceivers who sleep and see how to deceive him. And for him, constant cries and insults are not luxury, but a necessary measure. Because otherwise, a world full of villains will defeat him.
If you do not believe me, ask such a leader what is driving them.
He will gladly tell you about his rich life experience, where the infamous little people tried to deceive him. He will talk about it with rapture, because for him, turning into an idiot is a journey of a hero who defeated terrible monsters (people), overcame the cruelty of the world (people) and became better and stronger (idiot).
And then a fair question arises: "Maybe he is right? Maybe people are really disgusting, but the hero is the man who finds the strength to defeat them every day?"
The villain acts in his own interests. The hero acts in the interests of others. Even if the villain is not selfish, but is fighting for his family or his people, for example, then the hero will still fight for more people. For example, protecting the rest of the world from the villain’s people.
The heroism of a person determines the number of people whose interests he represents. Therefore, the most famous hero is Jesus, who died for all of humanity. And the villain is Judas, who sold him for personal gain. And Pontius Pilate, for example, could also be a hero, since he was trying to achieve justice for his people. But his people are small, and humanity is large, so Pilate is not right in this story.
The story of a vile boss who overcame his weakness in order to defeat the lying and greedy subordinates is always the story of a villain, as he is aimed at protecting himself and his small territory.
And the hero’s story is a story about how a man, surrounded by exactly the same lies and self-interest, learned to love people around him anyway.
