Team building is part of every company's culture not only to spend money but also to strengthen the bond between the management and their subordinate. And so before we go back to taking phone calls and start training for new skills, we had the opportunity to unwind and bond with the team.

We almost canceled this plan due to unforeseen circumstances and instead planned to go out to dinner with the team, but because the boat reservation couldn't be canceled, we went ahead with the plan and collected funds for the food and drinks. So, in addition to the initial 500 PHP contribution, we collected another 300 PHP for food. I also gave a 500 PHP voucher that I won during the Best Sinulog T-shirt competition, which I borrowed just to participate, lol.

For the food, instead of us cooking we ordered it instead so it is a lesser hassle on our part. The food cost 6000 PHP with 9 dishes already. We had intended to go on a Sunday, but I advised that because Sunday is a day for rest and mainly a family day for those who live with their families, some people would not be interested in joining us if we chose that day.

We planned to go there earlier on that day of our island hopping, and after shift, we gathered around the pantry area while others bought some of the items we needed to bring on the boat, such as drinks and additional chips. One of my colleagues also went to the terminal to arrange transportation from our office to Lapu-Lapu, where the boat and port are located. We chose to take a vhire rather than a jeepney on a cutting trip. So we paid 100 PHP per way, which is a wonderful deal for us. We left around 7:15 a.m. and arrived around 7:45 a.m., which was fortunate because it was still early and there was no traffic.

When we arrived, we went to the waiting area and paid the terminal fee of 5 PHP each. We waited for the rest because some of them were getting items that we needed, such as the hanging rice. Some of them took advantage of the opportunity to buy coffee while we waited, while others changed clothes while we waited for the boat to get ready.

We went to the boat and settled in; the videoke was already set up, and everyone was ecstatic. The sea is a little rough, and as everyone was taking pictures, we were also preparing the table for the food and beverages inside the cooler. Some of them started drinking that early too, lol.

We made our first stop on Olango Island, and most of them went to the water and began jumping into it out of enthusiasm. Of course, for safety precautions, they wear life jackets, even if they know how to swim. There was a lot that happened during our island hopping, and I'd want to tell you about it in my next blog while I wait for the images to be downloaded. So, hivers, stay tuned and I hope you are enjoying your week and have a good one! 🤞

PS: (Some photos were shared and downloaded from my friends device)
