I am a nosy photographer. To the point that I sometimes sit down on the ground and look around in search of the smallest and weirdest things. It can be a bug, flower, weird leaf, some dry part of a plant, seed... anything is photographable. It is the way you shot it I guess :)
And if your neck cannot handle so much looking down, just look ahead. Right there in the tree bark at the eye level I found some cool things too. At least I think so.
Lichen of course comes first. When all the plants lose their colours it is like a neon stuck to the tree. Those also grow on rocks and concrete. Such an amazing colour!
And here you can see lichen in three forms: the orange, the grey fluffy one and those black spots. Pretty cool!
And now three different trees with three different inhabitants. Sometimes it takes me some time to find the really cool ones. But it is all a part of a process I guess.. Walk around each tree checking whats hiding there. Once I get lucky to find those cute little mushrooms or some creepy bug. Other times it is all the same lichen everywhere. Which is still nice and I still shoot it every time :)
The photo above and the one below is the same type of tree.
Ok, this is a bit of a cheat as it is nothing that grew on top of the bark, but is part of the tree. It just a strange place to grow just a few single leaves.
Plus some small lichens around again.
And of course mushrooms. This one was popping from a cork oak bark surrounded by.... moooore lichens :p
Bonus bugger I found on a peach tree :)
