It might seem I am a lazy gardener, even though I own just a balcony packed with pots and plants. Ideally I should remove all the spent flowers and plant news ones if they were annuals. Or clean, trim and get them ready for winter.
But nooooo I wait.. and wait...
Until the ones that bloom dry up and produce seeds pods. And this is the moment I am waiting for. I just want to shoot the pods! Of course there is another advantage - most annuals drops seeds soon after and I do not have to sow them the next year. They will just sprout on their own.
This is Candytuft plant. I took after seeds from my mum's garden 3 years ago. I sowed them once and they grow since. I took those shot in the fall before I actually did remove the dry stems. I see the seeds that did drop to the soil already sprouted and a new generation is growing. Yay!
