Pasqueflowers are freaking adorable on their own. From the start they grow the furry buds, open the flowers with the dark, purple and also very fuzzy petals (damn I could pet them to death!) until the petals are all gone and they produce the fuzzy seeds.
What you see here are the seeds! Or to be precise the long hair that is attached to the seed. The seeds are in the very center and when they are ature wind, or passing-by animal will take them to a new location.
The plant is just fuzz overdose :)
Those were shot at my mum's garden one spring day. I missed the flowers that year, but I was not late for the seeds. They will be gone soon too and the plant will wilt and go dormant during the summer. It is not a heat loving one and she is not planning to deal with it.
There are a few bushes of those growing for years in the same spot in the garden. And every time I see them I admire all the little heads with crazy hair. Almost like a bad hair day party :)
Jealous? :P
