About 3 years ago I got some Daffodil bulb in a supermarket. Poor things were so eager to grow that they started to produce some new roots in the bag. I got them home and planted in a pot.
I was sure they will grow and bloom that season, but having some experience with bulbs in a pot I didn't expect them to come back each year.

And yet they did. Ever since they start to grow in the very early spring and bloom with few of those huge, yellow and fragrant flowers.
They smell like spring.
Or spring smells like daffodils :)

To enjoy the flower a bit more I cut one and put in a vase in the middle of the kitchen table. So that I could I see it every time I am there.
They don't last long and bloom only in spring.

All the photographs I took in natural sunlight. With all the strong light and shadow behind the object I am able to get that huge contrast with black background and nice shadows.
Those photographs don't even need much editing after. That's why I shoot most home plants this way :)

Almost monochrome song for today:
Dave Gahan - Miracles
year 2007

I recommend listening to the whole album Hourglass from Dave (it's the dude from Depeche Mode). Just be warned - this is the calmest and softest song of them all.
