Nasty little buggers were eating a Honeysuckle bush my mum has in her garden. The poor thing was all covered in those little aphids. Of course before exterminating them I had to take some photos. Everything is worth photographing!
I just feel bad for the plant. It was about to grow flower buds and looked like it will not bloom at all. All the young tips were covered in the sucking vampires.
And it look like it was a battle with time for all other bugs too. Ladybirds were busy munching them and Ants were in a hurry farming the sweet nectar aphids produce.
I'd say if we let the aphids be there, everyone (except the bush and mum) would be happy.
A little zoom on the pests. As nasty as they are, they look cool in the photo.
I am always curious to see the little things. Probably that is why I love macro photography. Naked eye cannot see the things a lens can.
The bush eventually did get anti-aphid treatment. I had to spray it twice if I remember correctly. Then few days of heavy rain washed away all that was left. It also managed to bloom, though the first batch of flowers was deformed and didn't have that nice colour they were supposed to have.
Only the later buds grew and bloomed as they should. Oh and that sweet sweet smell! Something amazing :)
