It very rarely happens to me that I can't choose one photo out of two. I usually always know exactly what I want. In the reporting wave, I have trained myself in a tough and ruthless selection of images.

This was the second wave of flooding after heavy and prolonged rainfall. The level in the Vologda River has risen even higher than after the ice break and the first wave of flooding. I have a visual meter

And once again, I found a new theme in the world of neon night mirror reflections – these are reflections of artificial light in puddles, but not simple ones, but rain ones. Common physics in everyday

I think our northern latitudes are lucky with the positions of the sun and moon. I once looked at southern countries and Africa for interest – there the sun "walks" across the sky almost vertically,

On this day, I enjoyed the long-awaited cloudy weather combined with the beginning of vegetation greening. Spring is no longer yellow, but it is also not green. That's the time when the colors start to

The process of budding and the appearance of the first leaves looks much more interesting in the pictures than the already fully grown leaves in the summer. But if this idea doesn't go into the

I've been thinking for a long time about what kind of text to write for this post, the usual one or to lay out the whole truth. It took a long time to decide whether to show these pictures at all or leave

No, they didn't disappear after my visit to them...they were gone a long time ago. The places of their former location are clearly visible on the satellite map. I decided to check if there was anything

Attempt number two is to capture graphic natural scenes in the Park of the 50th anniversary of October, which is located in the Lukyanovo neighborhood on the outskirts of Vologda. And this attempt was

I love cyclical behavior, but in a way that is unpredictable and unplanned. That is, the awareness of cyclicity should occur after, and not before, its manifestation. Once a year in spring, according to

The first greenery of the year does not appear on the ground, but on the trees. Foliage appears before the grass. And I, according to tradition, photograph the first truly spring natural manifestations.

I can't wait for new camera angles to appear after the commissioning of the new Nekrasovsky Bridge. In the meantime, we have to photograph it from afar and imagine how the architectural appearance of the

It is quite rare, probably even the first time, that I convey a snowstorm through architectural subjects rather than through street photography. A spring snowfall after complete snowmelt, also manifested

It's the same thing every year, and I'm so used to it that if it doesn't happen, then something unusual will happen. Snowfall in April after the snow melts completely is the norm for Vologda! The winter

In April 2026, the moon was called Pink. All the names of the moons were given by the Indians of North America, and now many other countries around the world have adopted the tradition of naming full moons.

The pine grove on the banks of the Ema River has become one of my favorite places in the Vologda region. The light of the rising moon (and from the A114 highway) brightened the night landscape, and a light

An old boat stands on the shore of Vologda in the village of Kuvshinovo. I tried to get to him in the winter, but a lot of snow did not allow me to get to the place. I don't understand the brands and types

Those were the first really warm days. I wanted a spring atmosphere and I went to the Spaso-Prilutsky Monastery. The monastery is always cozy...It can't be otherwise! At this point, I had already made
