We all imagine time as linear and space as uniformly flat. But what if, around our planet, all of this is arranged differently in different places? Clocks and units of time measurement were invented to be the same for everyone, so that people wouldn’t get confused. But it seems to me that time doesn’t flow the same way everywhere.
In Veliky Ustyug, time definitely flows more slowly.
But there’s still a feeling that I’m either coming into contact with my past, or even immersing myself in it.
And this doesn’t mean that I’m going back somewhere. No, I’m here in the present now, but it’s somehow perceived differently.
There are so many images in my head that I just can’t explain how everything works.
In also accidentally overheard a conversation between two officials who were discussing this city as some kind of anomalous place, suggesting that there really was something unusual here.
It’s no coincidence that there was a lot of buzz about aliens here during the Soviet era. These aren’t my guesses or rumors — they’re actual stories recorded in newspapers. Of course, they’re not confirmed facts.

Veliky Ustyug is one of the small towns with a very high concentration of churches. There are 28 of them in this city! Suzdal has a bit more — 30. There’s also Gorokhovets and Arzamas, where there are a lot of churches in a relatively small area.
If we consider the church from a physics perspective, the spire with the cross resembles antennas, which means the church serves as some kind of conductor.
And if there are many of them, it means there is good “connection” in this place.
It is also noteworthy that almost all the churches are located near a body of water or on a hill.
In general, Veliky Ustyug is strong...so much so that when I lived there, I constantly had high blood pressure and often had headaches...but after I moved away, I started to feel better.
...For many years, I studied and explored metaphysics, mysticism, and philosophy. Now, what I’ve learned seems to have simply dissolved somewhere within me and no longer interests me. I’ve gone through it all — it’s like the basics, the theory, from school.
But I’m still troubled by the questions of memory and time through photography.
Different conclusions were drawn in different years, and they were correct for those specific times.
Fundamental conclusions were also drawn based on my research.
So far, the most important conclusion regarding memory and time through a diary and a photograph is: the past and the future are states. When I look at a photo, I immerse myself in the state I was in at the time the image was created. Next, we need to understand whether it’s possible to interact with it and whether this state can be changed so as to influence the present and even the future?
