As our final stop before heading to a long drive back home in central Finland, was Valajaskoski hydroelectric power-plant. Doesn't sound like your basic tourist destination does it? Well we are not basic people so there's that.

This place was one of the most powerful scenes I've ever experienced. Pictures only tell a fraction of what it feels like to actually witness this massive body of water churning at the river. The sound is very loud, you can hardly hear when someone is shouting just next to you, and the vibration of the earth next to the power plant is borderline scary. You wouldn't wanna get caught on those waves.

I think we visited at a perfect time, with the sun set colouring the scene all beautiful, contrasting the scary waters. Once again, something deadly beautiful to marvel at.

Shot with the Nikon D7200 and Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 and Sigma 50-100mm f/1.8.

Extra behind-the-scenes photo my dad took of me when I was shooting at the waves. I'm not sure how legal it was to be up there but there were steps leading up to a ledge and these wasn't a stop sign so I took that as a please go ahead and climb. A guard did come after we'd already been at the scene for a good hour or so, but he only talked to some couple who was there for a bit too. I was back down by then and he only kept an eye on me for a while when I was shooting through the fence on the ground. I had already gotten everything I needed.
