I'm doing a series called One Shot Wonder, where I publish one image I think is good enough to stand on its own. Not a group of pictures, no friends to it, just one strong image. No shitty phone pictures, no leftovers, no self portraits. One quality image that doesn't fit in with anyone else, but nonetheless, looks amazing on its own. I don't want to do one of these every week, or try and capture just one image, I want it to come naturally, without planning and trying.
I took this shot yesterday, on December 27th, around 2pm in the afternoon, which in wintery Finland means: just before sunset. I have a great fascination towards dead plants and flowers that stick out under the blanket of deadly beautiful glittering snow. I situated myself on the ground, laying in the snow, to frame the image so that the orange flaming ball, also called the sun, is behind the dead flowers. I took plenty of other pictures yesterday too, some of which you already saw, but this one didn't quite fit in with the other ones. This one came out more moody and subdued, and I like it. There is plenty of sunset pictures and skyporn I like, but this one stands out for me as something a little more unique.
