Today I was running errands and on my way to the grocery store when I took note of the scenery that was starting to look pretty darn good in terms of photography. I hurried through the store and home as quick as I could, to change my clothes and grab the camera and head back out to the lakeside in hopes of capturing the sunset.
If you have payed any attention to the camera and lens details on my outdoorsy photography posts, you might have noticed I use almost exclusively the Sigma 50-100mm f/1.8 lens, even though I have the wider version of the lens too. This time I thought you'd appreciate the wider view, from 18 to 35mm.
I was about 15 minutes too late for my photo excursion and missed the best colours and it got dark really fast. I was also missing my big boy lens, I just feel way more comfortable with it, but could have been worse. I did manage to capture a little something icy.
It was a real struggle to walk because most of the walkways and yards were just as icy as the lake surface. And no, I did not go on the lake, the ice isn't solid enough for that yet, gotta give it a few days.
I'm hoping there conditions last for a few days so I can do another take with the big boy lens and more time.
