One more post related to the Finnish Independence Day celebrations because I forgot to show you my outfit!
I had a mini meltdown the night before because ”I hAve nOThinG to WeAr!1” but after ripping out half of my closet to the bedroom floor and giving a fashion show to the man, I did manage to find something suitable. My first choise was a black knit dress but it was too dramatic and didn’t go with these heels I wanted to wear. I also needed the outfit to be comfortable enough to be able to do the kitchen duties in.
I’m a jeans and a t-shirt gal at heart so I finally settled on an elevated look based on the everyday classic; a simple cream silk top and white super wide leg jeans and of course a pair of very festive heels. For a part of the evening I also had on my most worn knit, a simple grey cashmere sweater.
White and blue outfit was more than appropriate to host a dinner in celebration of 105-year-old Finland. Blue is for the lakes and white for the snow.
I thought ahead and did my makeup well in advance and curled my hair. I was going to wear red lipstick also but of course the guests arrived early and all I had time for in the end was to brush out my curls in 10 seconds and just hope for the best. It turned out fine enough.
I would have also liked a good photo of myself but only managed to snap a mirror selfie while in the kitchen wearing an apron, and another at midnight before going to wash off the day and get to bed.
