This little piggy goes to sauna.
It’s a tradition to go to sauna on Christmas Eve before dinner but we opted to eat first, have a nap and then go to sauna really late.
Mom had gifted us with a birch vihta, it’s made from the new growth in the summer and frozen for later use. You beat yourself or your friends with it in the sauna, don’t ask me, we Finns have weird traditions. Anyways, the smell of fresh birch is insanely good and even if you don’t wanna get beaten with it (why wouldn’t you!?), it’s great to have one just for the scent. If only someone was able to bottle it, I’d buy gallons of it, along with the scent of summer rain.
Sauna smoked ham is my favourite but this is the only ham that went to sauna this Christmas.
