You highlight the illusionary nature of money, and it reminds me of something I bought recently. I picked up some of those commerative "Bitcoin" coins. They're goldish-looking copper-plated pieces. Even though I know tey're not worth anything, I sure do like the heft of them when I'm holding them in my hands.
Like that scene in The Matrix where Cypher enjoys that piece of steak despite knowing it isn't real (there's no meat on them bones):
Kinda reminds me of the silver certificate dollars that my grandmother had passed down to her that I discovered in an old steamer chest in her attic. I was just a boy, and these old dollars sure didn't look like the "real" current ones that I had i my wallet. In many ways, money is what we make it and what we think it is.
