For instance, let's say we're talking about covid, and you link to a study, that's an outbound link. Then you reference a Leo post with even more information, that's an internal or backlink to them. There's controversy of course as many don't like linking out to other sites, thinking they are taking users away from their content. But you're actually building your blog up as a trusted source of information, which helps to increase your domain authority.

Notice, I didn't just drop the link, but wrapped it in the keywords "post about SEO" so that if someone searches for that on Google, his post might show up.
