Yeah right.
For the last few weeks I've been doing research on the candidates for the midterms. MY GOD there are a lot of them. The primary ballot, best I can tell on line, must be multiple pages. To be an informed voter on each and every vote is a full time job.
One thing I've noticed is that it's easy to find information about democrats, Republicans? Not so much. In fact it's dam hard. For example. Texas Congressional District 35. It's been held by Democrat Lloyd Doggett since the stone age. This Texas redistricted and the congressional district maps were redrawn. Lloyd saw greener pastures in a new district so he decided not to run in 35. 35 is up for grabs! You think? You'd be a fool to think so. Due to gerrmandering 35 wen from slight blue to deep blue. It'd take a miracle for a republican to be elected.
Even so you'd think it would be possible to research the Republican candidates? You'd be wrong. Other than the fact that there are a LOT of them, perhaps ten? I couldn't find much about any of them.
So who to vote for?
I'm voting for
Governor - Allen West
Lt. Governor - Daniel Miller
Attorney General - Louis B. Gohmert Jr.
as far as
so back to the 35th Congressional District - the republicans are
Finding information on those guys was a challenge. It's almost like the internet didn't want me to know anything about them. I finally decided on Bill Condict. What I found I liked and a while ago I saw him in a video. I haven't been able to find that video again.
The rest of the ballot? All hundred or so races (I exaggerate, but not a lot) each with multiple candidates?
Puh- Lease! Even if the internet would co operate and let me read about the republican candidates that would take much too long. I'm (see above) voting against the republican incumbents, then researching the runoff, then voting republican.
Best I can do.
Imagine what it was like researching the candidates before the internet. Oh wait. I do. It was impossible.
The frosting on the cake is that after I went to all that trouble someone who has no idea of what he is doing, or who is dead, will cancel my vote.
