GENESIS 13:14-15
And the Lord said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: Vs. 14
For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever. Vs. 15
The story of Abraham is a typical example of what life in the eyes means, we can see how God told Abraham to look and that what ever he sees is what he will be given.
If Abraham being a man without faith didn’t look beyond,where he was standing, just maybe we won’t be singing, Abraham blessings are ours.
What we see now is what we will become in the future. Because life is centered in the yes, we are what we see and what we see sends message to our heart.
When we hear of people committee suicide it isn’t just because of what people said, it is because in their eyes they see nothing good about themselves and feel nothing good will come out of them.
The devil knows that there is power in what we see, that was why when he was able to deceive the first woman because he knew what that there is power in what we see and what we see determines what we become. Whenever God makes covenant with us, the devil is always there because he wants us to see the negative part of life.
GENESIS 3:4-7
And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: Vs. 4
For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. Vs. 5
And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. vs. 6
And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. Vs. 7
The only way we can see the positive side of life is by focusing our eyes on Jesus. God wants us to fix our eyes on the covenant He made with us.
HEBREWS 12:2
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Vs. 2
He doesn’t want us to lose sight of our focus because Jesus never lost sight. Whenever the devil knows good things will come forth, like he tempted Jesus, he will look for all means to make us fall but when we only see what God wants us to see, it will be hard for us to fall.
Most times we fail to be conscious of what we see or what we look at forgetting that what we see in the day time stores in our subconscious mind and in the night time plays back.
