PROVERB 14:30
A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones. Vs. 30
Most people do not progress, not because they are lazy or are incompetent but because of envy.
They envy there colleague because he has been promoted. You envy your neighbor because she got a beautiful dress for an occasion, you envy our friend because she just told you that she has been proposed to or envy a family because they are doing well.
These things and more of them are the reason for envy between brothers, sisters, neighbours, friends, cousins, colleagues and the rest. But today, God is asking, why envy someone else? What are your gain when you envy someone that your destinies are not the same. Because she is your friend and got a good paying job does not mean you are supposed to get same job.
That your friend’s success does not hinder your success. Our destiny may be connected but it can never be the same. Even two identical twins do not have same destiny. What God wants to do for you cannot be hindered by what He is doing for someone else.
Know this, even if you both are to get the same job, He won’t use the same way He gave your friend that job to give you the job. He works in a mysterious way. Then why envy someone’s success?
We can’t be lifted up if we continue to envy people of their success in life. Our limitations in life is as a result of our envious attitude over people’s success. Envy kills a person.
JOB 5:2
For wrath killeth the foolish man, and envy slayeth the silly one. Vs. 2
While you become unhappy about the others success, you live in hatred and your life becomes a life of competition. People who think life is all about competition goes to their early grave because they are the kind of people that can do anything just to achieve what their opponent have.
God’s ways are quite different from the ways of men. God’s standard are absolute right and the best for anyone who wants to succeed in life.
When you see someone rejoicing over something, instead of envying, why not join in the celebration because through you rejoicing with the person, you open doors for your own.
