I'm sorry you had to go through all this. I am sorry that some people believe that in order to affirm themselves, they have to subjugate others by making them subservient. I'm sorry that these things keep repeating themselves - no matter what country we go to, no matter what time we live in.

I do not think there are words of comfort for the victims of domestic violence. All we, as observers, can do is offer our full support and a helping hand whenever they need it.
