The 1980's film had a lot of monologues and I think that's why most people think that it was tiring. But I agree with you. David Lynch's adaptation was much closer to the book. And I adored the scene,

Nice one. I hadn't heard of them. Thank for the tip. In the 90's there was an ad in Greek Tv with Mongolian music. Not metal or rock, more like traditional, but they used this throatsinging technique.
