I like the progression of this short work. The confusion introduced by the question in the first line leads to the decisive conclusion that “It must end.” How many times in life do we make compromises for the “thrill” only to find it consumes us? The choice of a vague “it” is brilliant as well because it allows the reader to insert their own consuming habit/relationship/addiction. Well done. Good write!
