An Afternoon in Bed
My face buried in her fragrant hair,
Like a bouquet of wildflowers.
Her breast rises and falls and rises and falls
With deep, slow, methodical sighs.
The lazy afternoon sun glimmers
With the brilliance of Solomon's palace.
I pray that the quiet of this room
Will invade her restless heart.
Be still and know that there is this hope,
Even if it be only by a dream.
