Recently, the fantastic and horror film festival that took place in Sitges, a town in Catalonia, in Barcelona - Spain, from October 6 to 16, 2022, ended.
This is its 55th edition and I will share with everyone the program that took place and how the people of the town are involved in this long awaited celebration every year.
In the days leading up to the celebration, the city began to dress up as a movie theater, and school children made crafts allegorical to the event and decorated the central streets of the town with them.
Businesses also got involved by taking part in contests for visitors and decorating the exhibits.
During the time of the event, current and old films were screened, as well as documentaries.
Many activities that included the children's population took place. Stopmotion workshops, storytelling, shared readings, kids art, exhibitions of horror film objects. We couldn't miss cinema for children with the screening of the documentary Le chêne, which was enjoyed by school children and was shown at the theater of the Meliá Hotel in Sitges.
I share a link where you can find the films that participated, as well as a lot of information of your interest in this event.
The organization of the event during the ten days was impeccable, since a total of 350 invited artists, national and international, had to be received for the presentation of 283 cinematographic works, of which 81 were short films and 4 television series.
These elements were distributed throughout the town, setting the scene and characterizing the environment.
Another of the activities to give strength and life to the festival was:
Zombie Walk
On Saturday October 8 at 10 pm we went to enjoy the spectacle of the Zombies that were going to surprise us coming out of the narrow streets of the village.
Previously in the afternoon had been the free make-up session where there were 400 places to create a great macabre atmosphere.

Here are some results with participants who kindly posed for me.
