"...The person you knew exists somewhere, but you are separated by too much time to reach them again." This hits closest to home. For the record, I've reconciled with someone from years ago. Of course, we catch up--we made up--we talked about the things that happened between those years, and of course, we avoided the things we kept on avoiding back from the start. I don't know, no matter how much we talk about--how much we try to catch up, there's just so much--too much of an empty space to fill. Spaces that are better off left empty. That's where it always stings.
