Bell's Pooltime Ale
"Anytime is Pooltime with this refreshing, Belgian Inspired Wheat Ale with a splash of Michigan Cherry Juice" - the can
I was a little concerned when I picked up this ale, as I've grown accustomed to most fruit-flavored beers being too heavy on the fruit side for my tastes. I was expecting a really sweet version of Shock Top with cherry flavor. I was mistaken, and that's a good thing.
Bell's Pooltime Ale is definitely wheat, but not too much. The cherry flavor is balanced nicely, and instead of punching you in the jaw with cherry, it waits until the finish to show up, and it shows up with class.
Bell's also makes a good porter, which is why I gave the cherry-flavored Pooltime beer a shot. It goes down easy, either by the pool or sitting on the deck. It is on the higher end of the spectrum for a 5% beer, but the experience is really good.
I would recommend this beer for something to drink that won't weigh you down and leaves a slightly sweet, refreshing taste in your mouth.
