I may have drifted away from Hive a bit, but it’s best to hope that things will soon get better and that I’ll start doing well here again, just like before. A lot of little things have happened during the time I haven’t been active here, and I think the song I’ve chosen fits the theme well—both in terms of what’s ahead for me.
Hi everyone in the HIVE OPEN MIC community It’s
@eudarcabello here, and this time I’m participating in Week 330, titled The Man. I didn’t want to leave this post until the last minute—I always do my best to post on time each week, and this time I tried harder than ever, but it still happened. I hope to stay on schedule from now on, for real. The crazy thing is that I finally finished my grad school exams—they were really driving me nuts—even though I’m already out of the program because I failed one of the courses. As for my thesis, I’m still being a bit lazy, but it’s actually a project for my current job. So even though I’m no longer in the Marine Biology grad program, its shadow still haunts me. Let’s hope it’s over soon so I can see if another opportunity for grad school comes up. The song I chose is the most straightforward one I could think of; it’s medium-length. To be honest, I never really took the time to learn it all the way through, but it wasn’t until now, when I read the lyrics, that I realized it wasn’t that complicated—I messed up a little. It’s the soundtrack for the Disney animated movie Mulan and is titled “Men of Action.” I didn’t want to keep racking my brain to see if another song would come to mind; I’m happy with how my choice turned out for this week—or rather, with the little bit I was able to record. I definitely needed to do this to fill myself with good vibes for the new week, so it seemed like the right thing to do.

Remember how I failed to meet the minimum passing grade in one course, which kept me from getting into graduate school? Now it looks like I’ll be teaching undergraduate classes at another university, and one of the courses I’ll be teaching is very similar. I guess karma loves to beat me up like a piñata.
To be honest, I didn’t earn my master’s degree in Marine Biology, nor did I fall in love with the field, but I did enroll to learn, and I think I succeeded in that. I would have met the minimum passing grade for an undergraduate degree if I had finished, but perhaps the purpose of that graduate program in my life has already been fulfilled, and now it’s time to make the most of it—I have to embrace whatever life throws at me as a man of action.
I try to let all the things in my life flow, I might try to force everything a little bit, like with the Marine Biology postgraduate course or trying to be constant in Hive, but whatever ends up turning out, I know I will know how to accept it. Grateful for all the good things that have happened to me and the bad things that I have gotten rid of, for your support, I hope you also visit my other posts, good luck with your content and see you next week.
