Time for more Q-Pop music from Kazakhstan. 22 SBI contest at the end of the post. Here are five recent releases and one flashback. It might be winter on the steppes, but these tracks have fire enough to warm bodies for miles around.
Hot /// KeshYOU - Shameless

This track dropped the day after my last Q-Pop post and it's stayed sizzling hot since. Shameless is a definite chart topper and is the most recent in KeshYOU's turn towards themes more ... interesting. The three female rap voices harmonize effortlessly over stabby brass and bubble-gum bass lines reminiscent of Luscious Jackson's "Ladyfingers".
Hot /// RaiM & Artur - Saukele
CREDIT: RaiM & Artur - Сәукеле / Saukele
Traditional instruments and costumes dress up this folk-rap number. Oh, and it has that stabby brass I like so much. Raim & Artur's work are usually more poppy; including this collaboration with ALAR (formally known as BN) "Лучший / Lutshii / The Best".
Hot /// Ziruza & ALAR - Me Too
CREDIT: ALAR & (ALAR & Зируза) - Тағы да / Tagy Da / Me too
Speaking of ALAR collaborations, this super sweet office-romance song with Ziruza seems perfect for a Korean soap-opera or a Christmas romance movie. The chemistry between Aidan and Ziruza has fans demanding more.
Hot /// Alem Band - Operation Hype
CREDIT: Alem Band - еркеМадам / erkeMadam / Operation Hype
These cheeky bad boys are back with another danceable track. Alem Band might be accused of capitalising on aesthetically pleasing female leads in their music videos but this time their past - Калауым / Kalayim / My Mood - comes back in dramatic fashion.
Hot /// Various - New Day
CREDIT: Various - Жаңа күн / Zhanga Kun / New Day
Here's a celebration of culture for you. With a lineup of accomplished singers and a video worth watching for the living culture alone. The standouts performers are Ayree and Steppe Sons. Ayree adds the traditional trills in a way that bridges present to past.
EchoTrack /// Ali Okapov - Don't Worry
CREDIT: Ali Okapov (Али Окапов) - Уайымдама / Whyimdama / Don't Worry, 2017
Funky, polished and just really fun track.
