Cacti have a strong survival defense. It can grow in deserts or dry and hot areas. So it is an alternative plant that is suitable for countries that have a hot or tropical summer like Indonesia.
Cactus are very easy to grow and maintain, because they do not require a lot of water. In addition, cactus plants also do not require a large space, so they can take advantage of a small space to cultivate plants from the desert that are identical to this thorn.
In the house where I work while also taking care of the cactus plants, my grandma's son grows, I just help take care of them. The cactus is planted in small pots placed in the front garden of the house. There are even some of them that are placed in large flower pots to ride on other pots.
Cacti have a strong survival defense. It can grow in deserts or dry and hot areas. To cope with dry and hot conditions, cacti store a lot of water whenever it rains or during watering. So it is an alternative plant that is suitable for countries that have a hot or tropical summer like Indonesia.
How to care for a cactus?
Watering the cactus
All types of cacti are able to adapt to a dry environment. However, cacti also need watering. Especially small cacti, you have to pay attention to watering so they don't die easily.
The water that is splashed will be used as backup food, so that if the owner travels there is no need to be afraid. Their crops will die of drought.
Get Sunshine
Cactus plants love light, that's how they adapt to deserts with almost no shelter. Place the cactus pots in a place that gets direct sunlight. Make sure they get at least about 6 hours of sun each day.
Cactus Pots Must-Have Drains
Containers or cactus pots must have drainage holes to allow water in and out. Cacti don't like too wet places, because they will rot. So, make sure the water that is splashed or rainwater can come out properly, so it doesn't settle in the pot.
Give More Water in summer
Although cacti can survive in desert areas and don't need a lot of water, it's best during the summer or dry season you water the cactus more. However, do not use a spray. For fear of water coming out to cause the roots and fungus on the leaves of the cactus to be damaged.
Water the soil, not the trees or cactus leaves. When you see the soil in the pot drying, water it until the water flows from the drain holes in the pot.
Having a cactus plant gives me its own happiness. Because the little plants in pots are very cute. If the mood is not in the mood, seeing these small plants can be happy. When there is no activity, we also take care of them by watering them.
