Good day everyone, I hope you guys are doing great? I'm doing great as well.Tuesday was a big one for me. On Tuesday, 8th September, 2026, I was officially inaugurated as a member of the Akwa Ibom State Professional Photographers and Cinematographers Guild - ASPPACG, Ikot Ekpene Zone.

The handing over

It wasn’t just another event. It was a moment of pride, purpose, and promise.

The Journey to This Day
For years, many of us in Ikot Ekpene have been doing photography and videography as individuals, hustling, learning, and growing on our own. Today, we took a bold step together.

The ceremony was held with the presence of the State President and members of the State Executive Council. They came to witness the inauguration of our new Zonal Executives and to induct us, the new members, into the Guild.

The Executives

The atmosphere was filled with professionalism. From the speeches to the oath-taking, you could feel that this Guild is serious about raising the standard of our craft.

The Oath and The Charge
Standing with my fellow inductees, we raised our hands and took the oath of allegiance to ASPPACG. We pledged to uphold the constitution, maintain ethical standards, and deliver quality service to our clients.

The Oath Taking

The Oath Taking

In his address, the State President charged us to embrace unity, discipline, and excellence. He reminded us that we are now ambassadors of the Guild. Our work should not only make us proud, but also make ASPPACG proud.

That charge hit home for me. As creatives, our lens tells stories. Now we have a body backing us to tell those stories with more structure and integrity.

Receiving My Certificate and Sash
One of the highlights for me was receiving my Certificate of Membership and wearing the official ASPPACG sash. As seen in the pictures, it was handed over with a handshake and a smile — a symbol of acceptance into a family of professionals.

Receiving Sash

We also had moments of learning at the panel table, networking with senior colleagues, and a beautiful group photograph at the gazebo to seal the day.

What This Means Moving Forward
Being part of ASPPACG means I’m no longer walking this path alone. It means collaboration over competition. It means training, growth, and representing Akwa Ibom creatives with dignity.

A big thank you to Chairman Comr. Cyril Esu, CEO of Cardinal Studio, and the entire Ikot Ekpene Zonal Executives for making this happen. Your leadership is already showing results.

To my fellow newly inaugurated members: Congratulations to us. Let’s go build, create, and elevate the industry together.

The future of photography and cinematography in Akwa Ibom starts with us.
