Interesting talk by Geoffrey West about his book (Scale: The Universal Laws of Growth, Innovation, Sustainability, and the Pace of Life in Organisms, Cities, Economies, and Companies). I find the binary modes of sublinear and superlinear growth he's talking about to be somewhat parallel to Daniel Kahneman's work on the binary modes of thinking.
