While I turned off the auto-focus between each picture, I did not turn off the image stabilization function on the lens. It appears that the subtle movement of the clouds triggered the image stabilization function which causes the jumping between frames.
I discovered that the image stabilization switch was "on" yesterday. I have some sunrises yet to be processed that will likely have some jumps too.
