If you go over the wall in act II, you better have fireworks
and free hand jobs for act III.
It was September 1973. The tall people were not giving up on sending me to Kindergarten.
The 70s were different. If you could spank your kid without spilling your drink, that was considered a parenting skill.
My parents had mad skills, so there I was in fucking Kindergarten.
Fuckers
OK, whatever, I thought maybe I would show up, push a crayon around,
then smile and wave and head home.
But it didn't go down like that. These tall people always have a plan.
The first thing they do is to herd all of the future Senators and Captains of Industry together into a circle,
so they can figure out who is retarded.
They do this with the help of the worst song ever recorded.
A song they call 'Head, Shoulders, Knees and toes' (knees and toes)
Maybe you've heard it. And if you haven't, just remember I told you not to google it.
It's your own damn fault if you do.
The first time they spin that hit, it's total chaos. The worst song ever is pumped up to 11. Then you got a circle of kids picking their nose, kids scratching their ass, kids standing on one leg with their heads spinning around.
Not one of us can remember where our knees are at. But we got through it.
And then it was over.
Or so it seemed.
Because It's the second day that you get your education. It's the second day they teach you what they really want you to know.
They want you to know that it's not about your knees or your toes.
It's not about your head or your shoulders.
It's about breaking you down, and crushing your spirit.
They circled up everyone again on the second day, and taught us all the real lesson.
They played the same song again
No matter what the dance
The piper calls the tune
The piper calls the tune.
