Every time I see this flower, I am drawn to the feeling it evokes in me: the transformation of death into life. It is not like other wildflowers that grow around the Oxidation Lagoon. It always looks dry, and so does its fruit, as if it were prepared to endure. Nature has a mysterious cycle of creation.
At the entrance of the lagoon, the mango tree provides shade and, during its fruiting season, allows us to have free food.
However, the constant passage of the cows that live around the lagoon slightly alters the environment (at the entrance), and furrows of earth devoid of wild grass can be seen, as they forge a path to get closer to the contaminated water to drink and relieve themselves.
As a result of soil unprotected, the roots of the trees and shrubs that were already there from the beginning are left exposed. One part of the ecosystem dies and another is reborn, but much stronger than its previous form of life, in the face of these difficult conditions. It is the great paradox of nature.

Cada vez que veo esta flor, me siento atraída por la sensación que me produce: la transformación de la muerte en vida. No es igual que otras flores silvestres que crecen alrededor de la Laguna de Oxidación. Siempre parece seca y también su fruto, como si hubiera venido preparada para resistir. La naturaleza tiene un ciclo de creación misterioso.
En la entrada de la laguna, el árbol de mango brinda sombra y en su temporada de frutas, permite que tengamos alimento gratis.
Pero el paso constante de las vacas que viven en la laguna altera un poco el entorno (a la entrada) y pueden verse algunos surcos de tierra sin pasto silvestre, porque ellas van buscando camino para acercarse al agua contaminada para beber y hacer sus necesidades.
