I always look forward to the weekend engagement prompt because somehow the questions make me look deeps Into some personal aspect of my life that I wasn't even sure I cared for like this week's prompt

OPTION FOUR
Share three photos you cannot live without and explain them: Where they were taken, what they mean to you, and why they are so treasured.

when I saw the question I took a few minutes to just think off the top of my head what photos I couldn't do without and I have over six photos I know but since the prompt requested three I needed to streamline my option so I went Into my gallery.

In the process of looking through my photos and reliving the memories I was able to declutter the irrelevant pictures, I didn't know how much of a dump my gallery was with over 900 pictures deleted, I felt good doing that and when I was done I finally found the three most Important photos that I treasure so much

PICTURE ONE

this picture was taken in my parents house on my birthday 30/JULY/2020.it was taken a week to my wedding day 8/AUGUST/2020. on that day I was gifted my very first Car by my father, the biggest surprise of all time.

My dad is my favorite person(please don't tell my mum) because he speaks only when necessary and keeps To his word. he is just cool like that in a strict way though.

I remember when I graduated in 2018 with a first-class and he promised me a car for my good work. I was so excited that I reminded him every month for a year and he kept on saying soon. I gave up when I told him my now husband and then-boyfriend had proposed to me, so I was getting married. We forgot about the car issue altogether.

I was back home for my wedding preparation and it was my birthday but I didn't care so much cause of preparation but unknowingly my dad and fiance collaborated to surprise me, my fiance got a surprise company to get cakes, gifts, 🎺 trumpets, flowers and balloon to come with the car my father got me. He didn't want to give me on my wedding day because he wanted me to know it wasn't a wedding gift but the promise he made earlier. But trust my Nigerian mother, She decorated the car and made his present it on my wedding day again.

anyway, this picture was the aftermath of the whole surprise that day.it is so important to me because it is evidence of my dad's promise and love and my husband's support even when we had a whole wedding party to prepare for.

PICTURE 2

I am a sucker for weddings and marriages, especially in movies, one scene that almost gets me emotional is when the bride walks down the Aisle with their parent, most times they lose their dad and get others to do it and you see them in tears wishing their dad or mum were alive to do the walking.

I had always prayed for my Dad to be alive to perform this particular duty and I am grateful I had this picture to remind me of our walk together down the Aisle.

This picture/moment was captured on my wedding day a few moments before we walked into the church. I remember specifically telling the photographer how important it is he took this picture but as usual, they will disappoint, Thank Goodness he had a video coverage where he was able to extract this picture from it, that is why it is in black and white and it came out perfect. I got this picture framed as a gift for my dad and he loved it ❤️

PICTURE 3

I can never stop talking about how much of a blessing it is for me to have carried a child and experience motherhood. when I was pregnant I remember telling my husband that I wasn't only carrying my child, I also had in my womb my grandchildren yet unborn. He would reply “mother of many nations” and we laugh about it but it was true though.

This picture was taken in my room when I was 6 months pregnant with Leroy. This picture reminds me of my journey as a first-time mom, the stretch mark, the smile even in pain, the glow, and everything in between.

The funny thing is I never shared this picture of me, even when I treasured it so much, just because I was so ashamed of the stretch marks but I now own them with pride.

These three pictures hold a special place in my heart, and I am grateful for the whole idea of photography, capturing moments and reliving the moment through the memories the photo brings.

All pictures are mine
