There are people in this world who knew exactly what they wanted to be or become before time itself(A little exaggeration there)
big ups to everyone who has their career or business figured out, I celebrate you.
For me knowing what I want to be, who I want to be in the career and business space has not been easy. growing up as a disciplined individual, one would think by now I would have my life all figured out especially with the way things went on smoothly for me with my education (a first-class graduate), but no that's not the case
I have been on a journey to discovering my true potential and passion but it seems like the journey isn't coming to an end.
This journey to finding my Niche in career and business started right after my NYSC. The plan was to get a job in whatever establishment I could find and grow a career from there.
So I applied For jobs from every sector, banking, agriculture, education, even health. I did not want to streamline my job search to geology which was my course of study so I applied and waited but nothing was coming for months till I Aced an interview with a start-up company as their new financial analyst馃槀 (with absolutely no idea what my job description was)
Well, I was promised full training on the job, it felt like fate working for me, I knew I was very good with numbers; I guess this is it...
I thought
I got an email from the company, with my login details and password to a paid online course on financial analyst worth, felt like a blessing, at that point I was certain I have found my niche and the company of my dreams.
BUT Covid19 happened and I was stuck at home with the course, a course that was supposed to take 30days took me 6 months, I started the course with so much enthusiasm but I had no interest or zeal to finish because it was all strange and different for me but I finished it for the sake of the company but unfortunately I never got a call back from the company, seems covid 19 did a number on them like other establishments.
one of my numerous online certificate.
I enquired more about the course and to fully understand I needed to have understood DATA ANALYST first before FINANCIAL ANALYST, so I knew I wasn't going to give up on myself so I got a paid course again on data analyst, majorly because I made a research about the role in different company and I found out it was a good career path that comes with big pay and benefits but sincerely I wasted my time and money.
I decided to try out something different, I attended a paid seminar about finding your niche and even got a one on one session with the host, and in our talk she said
Finding your passion equal finding your niche.
but I don't even know my passion? I left the event even more confused than I came.
I just decide to keep trying different things till I know what sticks. I have tried a lot of things, digital marketing, affiliate marketing, graphic design, Social media manager, business analyst/ developer but nothing has worked for me.
I am your typical JACK OF ALL TRADE, MASTER OF NONE馃ズ
I am not giving up, hoping to revisit all the old skills I had acquired before, get more knowledge just maybe I am missing something important but I would keep learning till I find any niche.
I have a journey ahead, hopefully not too long now I would get to my destination
I could just be a writer thanks to hive Or maybe not?馃檮
If you have found your dream jobs and passion, how and when did you realize this was what you were meant to be or do in life?
