Desperation

Desperation is a heavy cloak,
An enemy to humanity.
Its force is weighty,
It coats to suffocate,
Until its hunger is satisfied.

Its wildness slithers in like a snake.
Deceiving and cunny.
It holds one captive to its schemes
It crowds one with its shadow
Obscures what one is supposed to see.

It becomes a cruel bandit,
Stealing one's peace.
It then drains one's strength.
Restlessness that can't be tamed,
Becomes the host's plight.

Restless, it makes one go the wrong path.
Makes one's feelings and emotions clouded.
Options are limited.
Blind to opportunities.
One surrender to Desperation

Is all hope lost?
Are options really limited?
Be desperate and make the wrong choice.
Regret comes,
Afterwards like a blow to the heart.
