Hello dear friends of Hive, my best wishes for the holidays. I am back to share with you another of my works. This painting made in watercolor corresponds to another piece of the first series of paintings that I am making at the same time that carries a support in terms of conceptual research.

In this painting I have thought of posing a metaphor of the ego and its masks, the ego writing the different librettos corresponding to the different masks that we make use of daily. The ego is a part of us, it is the construct of our personality, structured and developed throughout our life, through the teachings transmitted by those who have surrounded us.

Masks are personality traits conditioned by our memories, thoughts, ideas and beliefs. We often use them either unconsciously or consciously to hide things about ourselves that we do not want others to see. But not everything is negative, becoming aware of our masks helps us to face that problem that causes us discomfort and that we prefer to mask even to ourselves to save us the fatigue of working on it. This fatigue generated by seeking to tear down our masks even with ourselves is due to the fact that culture and society have conditioned us to always assume a victim posture, thus justifying the unjust human condition in which we live and which seems to be orchestrated by a few who claim that this is the way it should be.

These acquired traits that represent the personality, we get them from outside and throughout our lives. If we obtain them, it means that they are not intrinsic to us, if so, then the development of an individual should consist of remembering a certain genetic conditioning of response to the environment and the sociability of the species. But this is not the case, the individual learns from his peers while developing his personality. That said, we must address the idea that we are not our personality. We are not our ego, we are what makes possible the good and the bad in us. Product of our own creation. We write the script and act it out on stage.

Well friends, this has been all for this post, where I have not only shared with you another of my work but also a fragment of the research that I carry out as a source of inspiration for the generation of artistic content. This research revolves around themes such as the human condition, mysticism and the collective unconscious. See you soon. Thanks for your attention.
