Marce, when I saw that you posted the video in the group, I made time to listen to you, because it’s always a pleasure to do so. And I want, with complete honesty and sincerity, to open my heart to you and tell you what has made me lose enthusiasm for Hive.
I still think the project is valuable and has a lot of potential. And what captivated me from the start wasn’t the money. It was the possibility of building a real community, of learning, of connecting with people from other parts of the world, of sharing ideas in an authentic and genuine way. That’s what I fell in love with.
However, what disillusioned me were the people. I had contact with those considered leaders within the ecosystem, and the experience was very painful. Ignored inquiries, questions treated as insignificant, and responses laced with undisguised contempt. A “figure it out on your own like the rest of us did” that teaches nothing… it just pushes you away.
And it hurts. It hurts a lot to encounter contempt disguised as experience. Because you come looking for a real community and you run into walls. With ego. With that sense of superiority that some flaunt simply because they’ve been around longer or have more within the ecosystem.
That really turned me off, Marce. And it’s been hard for me to come back. Not for the coins, but because of how empty it feels when you’re genuinely searching and all you find is indifference.
It’s sad that such a beautiful project, where the community should be the heart, is tainted by that.
