I've never been to Portland and I never will spend my money there. I don't think spending my money in Portland will actually change the self-destructive nature of the Democrats who live there. They won't learn and refuse to accept that they are incompetent at running their city.

Everything I've heard about Portland has been very negative... Everything from tent "cities" to the Portland Riots. The far-left have destroyed the city, but it's not surprising because many on the left believe that subsidizing homelessness will get rid of homelessness. Its a delusion. In Florida, we don't have these tent cities like Portland and San Francisco has and somehow our homeless rates haven't gotten as bad during the pandemic. In Florida we chose economic liberty. From my understanding. Portland chose social liberties while ironically demanding lockdowns and it made it easier for thugs to get away with crimes, while attacking the very services and businesses that provide their city with goods. What is happening in Oregon's and California's city centers are not a result of Conservative 'interference' but a lack of economical sense and a soft touch approach to policing.

These people cannot govern themselves and looking at the slow collapse of Portland makes me believe that even my Anarcho-capitalist-leaning beliefs are a pipe dream. We can't live in a libertarian society while the dregs of society make complete asses of themselves. The Portland experiment in decriminalizing these drugs is making libertarians on the left and the right look bad.

I doubt Portland will change anytime soon, from my perspective, the West has become a stain to the US. Then again, it could be because I am strongly opposed to leftist ideology, but even then the shit on the ground doesn't help paint a pretty picture.
