Our dear platform, Steemit

If I’m frustrated in life, just in general, frustration is something you see being big and powerful here in platform too. Like any other society, or community this place has pros and cons. And both of those extremes are because of acts of people. When any society or community has problems, and let’s be real, there are always some problems. No such thing as "utopia" exists. The reason lays in the members of those communities. There are and always will be people who see that it is their right to fuck up the system if there are loopholes, because why else there would be loopholes?

There are and will be amoral people who seek only their own benefit and ways to maximize their profits. That is something that is a fact. That is something that just is. We don’t need to accept the behavior, but the thing that neglecting exists we need to accept. In order to fight back, or disapprove the behavior, you need to be aware of the behavior.

And no, I’m not even sure I have any right to even talk about this topic. I’ve been member of Steemit only 145 days and that is pretty much being baby in here. Anyway, you know how I feel about rules, so, even if I have no right, I’m still going to talk about it. Deal with it.

Money, the source of all evil?

Oh, that sweet sweet cash. It has more power in people behavior than anyone likes to admit. Greed is something that is in us all, we want better for ourselves and for those we care. It is just natural. And often people also see the balance in things. How much is okay, and moral.

Then there is times and people who fail to see it. People who think they have right to have it all just because they can. I think it is community who should show individuals what is and isn’t okay. But what happens when community choose to quietly accept the bad behavior?

It continues.

Though, who am I to judge bad behavior or content? I myself behave badly if you’d ask just from random person who don’t know me. And also usually even if they knew. That is something I’ve chosen to be. I can behave also in very correct way when I want to, and in real life I can be also cheery. There are thousands of tiny factors why people are how they are, do what they do. Everything can and should be controlled not by others, but themselves.

Communities shouldn’t accept neglecting, but how to deal with people who use the system over their rights? Would there be problem if money wasn't involved?

Lead the way

There are always people in communities we consider as a leaders. Those are not necessarily ones who are nominated leaders though. Power is something that is given to you. Authority something you earn. For being a great leader or even A leader community need to trust you to be one. Hand out those keys and power of decision making.

I don’t believe things work too long if we try to please everyone. Yes, we should make decisions responsible. But is the majority really ones to listen? If we trust on peoples IQ’s, only approx. 2% of people can be considered as geniuses. From that 2% we can only guess how many wants to use their knowledge in common good and how many for increasing their own profits and status. We should listen ones who have the ability of decision making and morale that benefits common.

How to find these people? -No idea. But I don’t think majority should do the decision making just because they are majority.

It’s not all scam

As said, there are pros and cons. If the nature of people often is the con, that same thing is also the pro. People themselves are the pro. Platform brings likeminded people together, people who never had met without platform. That alone is a perfect and good enough reason to fight for it. I’ve been thinking a lot about our little get-together in Estonia, and how that effected me, and yes, here we go again with the meet up. Those people and the whole meet up left a mark. I wouldn’t never meet those people without Steemit. And to be honest without platform there would be a lot other things too I wouldn’t ever done. I’ve said I’m not community person but even if I don’t like to admit it, when you find those like minded people around you, you become community person.

When you pack 10 lonely wolfs together, you are given a pack of wolfs. Community.

I’m not saying that we all should be happy happy joy joy community persons, but now I myself see better that not all communities are a like. So, this group we form, group of misfits and loners is in fact form of community too.

I would hate to see steem fail, even thought I realize there is legit possibility it does. Not because of decentralization, block chain or those sweet sweet earnings, no. Because of communities. Those group of people that got together to grow and build better tomorrow. Yes, I’m throwing up in my mouth a little but I’m not even kidding. Steemit isn’t paycheck for me, nor will be, but the source of income that I actually value much more than money. Knowledge.

Value the value itself

I choose to value people. Okay, there is also art and stuff I value even when I don’t know the creator. But often when I get to know them I value them even more. Content is just a tiny piece you show of your self in platform. There is people who don’t post at all. Are they worthless? No. When you don’t know them it seems that way though. But when you get to know them you see that there are a lot people, that seemingly do nothing for the platform than just hangs around, but they actually do. People who read, and comments, people who develop platform, people who expose neglecting and act. They all are part the grand community, they all matter.

I think everything that is in fact ORIGINAL matters. I don’t have to agree, nor like the content, behavior or what ever. But when people are genuine and original I do see value in them.
